Nool

Service DEsign
Nool aims to simplify and centralize a service, providing an easy-to-use digital tool that empowers people to care for their parents remotely with confidence and peace of mind.
As the Service Designer for this project, my focus was on accelerating the prototyping phase to be as time-efficient and cost-effective as possible. I implemented a strategy inspired by the "Testing Business Ideas" methodology by Strategyzer, where we created an experiment around our core hypotheses. This involved developing a landing page supported by a targeted digital marketing campaign, presenting Nool as an existing solution. The goal was to measure market interest and gather insights from real users through visitor surveys, validating the potential of the product before moving forward with moving forward with further investment.

Team Alignment

To ensure all stakeholders were aligned and focused on a common goal, I facilitated several virtual sessions . These sessions were crucial, I guided the team through structured discussions where they shared their expectations and goals. My primary role was to help them converge on a unified vision for the project, ensuring that everyone was on the same page and moving forward together. Below is a visual summary of the insights gathered from these sessions, organized into key clusters.

Persona Canvas

Laura

35 years old / Freelance Graphic Designer

Background

Laura moved abroad 5 years ago for work reasons.

Lives in another country, more than 2000 km away from her parents.

Her parents, both in their 60s, are independent but starting to experience minor health issues.

She has a close relationship with her parents, but the time zone difference complicates communication.

Goals

She wants to ensure that her parents maintain their independence and well-being while she is far away.

She desires a way to be involved in their care without disrupting her work routine.

Concerns

She feels powerless in emergencies due to the distance.

Her parents are not familiar with many current technologies, making it difficult to implement digital solutions.

Behaviors

She uses digital apps and tools to manage her personal and professional life.

She is creative and seeks practical, easy-to-implement solutions.

Ideation

During the ideation phase, I guided the team through a collaborative storyboard exercise to explore and visualize our solution from the user's perspective. We focused on Laura, a key user persona, and mapped out her journey from experiencing a problem to discovering our solution, Nool. Although the team was already inclined toward developing an app, this decision wasn’t backed by user data. Given the constraints of time and budget, I used this exercise to emphasize the need for more than just an app; we also had to consider creating a supportive ecosystem, building user awareness, and driving engagement. This workshop was pivotal in aligning the stakeholders' understanding of the broader requirements needed to ensure Nool's success.

Laura lives far from her aging parents and constantly worries about their well-being. She struggles to keep up with their health needs due to the distance.

Overwhelmed by the complexity and lack of integration in current solutions, Laura feels lost and unsure about how to effectively care for her parents.

Laura discovers Nool, a simple, all-in-one solution designed to help her care for her parents remotely.

With Nool, Laura easily sets up medication reminders and schedules appointments, ensuring her parents receive timely care without hassle.

Nool allows Laura to monitor her parents' health in real-time and communicate effortlessly, no matter where she is.

With Nool, Laura can now care for her parents with confidence and peace of mind, knowing they are always supported.
